humane society??
how much does it cost to apdot a pet from the humane society and what do u have to do to get one? do u have to fill up forms or somthin? thanks
I haven’t adopted from there, but I’ve adopted from other shelters. First off Congrats on considering adoption!! As you probably know, many dogs don’t get a chance in shelters!!
1) I think it’s between $90-100, I’m not sure, it varies from shelter to shelter. It includes the animal obviously, food, collar, sometimes toys, microchip, and all their shots and being spayed/neutered. IT’s a deal for sure!! Sometimes during the holidays, they have a half off discount.
2) You might have to have an in home inspection, I doubt it though.
3) Just sign all their forms and agree to care for the animal etc..which only took us about 15 minutes.. they let you know alot of vital information.
Good luck with everything, let me know if I can help you at all!!
It will depend on your humane society. Phone your local one and ask, they will be happy to give you information. Our local one charges $90 for a dog, more for puppies, and I think about $50 for a cat, includes vet check, spay/neuter, shots, microchip. They will have you fill out an application to adopt, generally they check your references and if you rent they will check with your landlord to make sure you can have a pet.

It depends on your area and the humane society in question. Where I live a dog (no matter what breed mutt or pure) is $140 is up-to-date on shots and is neutered if old enough. If not old enough yet they give you a certificate to get it done when he reaches 6 months.
You do have to fill out a questionairre and have to be approved to adopt. This is to ensure the dog is going to a good home that will hopefully keep it the rest of it’s life.
But things like this will likely vary from each society.

All Human Society’s, Animal Shelters, and rescue groups are all different. Could cost from 25 bucks up to 500 bucks, yes it’s nuts but true. You should call around and find out, and ask about forms most all require forms, some home inspections. Best of luck:)

Most places require that you bring in your lease agreement or you deed to your house, and they will call your landlord to make sure it’s ok for you to get a pet. They will also have you fill out quite a few forms and may check on your employment to make sure you can support a pet.
Costs vary, but all include the cost of the neuter or spay and the first shots – at the shelter where I live it’s around $100-120. You can expect to spend at least an hour at most shelters to do the appropriate forms, etc.
If you go with a statement from your landlord saying it’s ok to adopt (typed on letter head and signed) and your most current pay stub, it may go faster, depending on the place…
They do all this to make sure you aren’t going to adopt irresponsibly and cause another animal to be homeless.
Call ahead to make sure you know what is expected.
